SCHOOL REACH PROGRAM

 Bishop’s Academy at Holy Family has instituted an additional method of communication called “SchoolReach”. The SchoolReach program provides school administrators the ability to deliver personalized phone or text messages to every parent or staff, or select groups, through an affordable and easy-to-use web based system that requires no on-site hardware, software or phone lines.  This will allow the school to immediately notify parents of any changes to the scheduled school day such as: early dismissal or closings.  For more information contact the school main office at (315) 487-8515.

SCHOOL CLOSINGS
• When West Genesee schools are closed, we are closed.
• When the district you live in is closed but West Genesee and BA@HF are open, your district will NOT provide bus transportation to our school. Your child would be legally excused from school for that day.

SCHOOL DELAYS
• Watch the television starting at 6 a.m.
• Your child will be bused according to the district in which you live.
• West Genesee may be delayed and not your district. In this case:
• Your child's bus will pick him/her up at the regular time.
• Our school will be open, but classes will not start until the delayed time. (1 hour delay = 9:05 a.m.)
• Your district may be delayed and not West Genesee. In this case:
• Your child's bus will follow your district's delay time.
• Our school will start at the regular time and your child will be legally excused until arrival.
• It is important to monitor the television frequently, school often change from delayed to closed.
• REMEMBER -- Your child's bus will follow the district in which you live.
• If you drive your child to school, you should also follow the delay time of the district in which you live.

START TIMES
Regular -- 8 am -- arrival 7:45 - 8
1 hour delay -- 9 am -- arrival 8:45 - 9
2 hour delay -- 10 am -- arrival 9:45 - 10

WINTER SAFETY
• Do not park anywhere in the upper parking lot before 8:05 a.m.
• If you are dropping your child off at the curb, please remain in line with the buses. It is illegal to pass/go around the buses.
• Children should not arrive before 7:45 a.m.. If they do they must attend the before-school program for a nominal fee.
• Be sure that your child is properly dressed for the weather, including non-slip footwear/boots.

EARLY DISMISSAL
Radio and television will inform you of early school closing. Bishop's Academy @ Holy Family follows the rules of the West Genesee School District. However, your child will be affected according to the district in which you live. For instance, if Solvay is dismissing early, your child's bus will be at the school to pick them up.
Bishop's Academy personnel or your child will NOT be calling to let you know of early dismissal. Be sure your child is aware in advance of what to do.
These are the three options:

•The child will take the school bus they normally take every day.
•The child will go to the Extended day care program. This is for children who are registered in the program or have made previous arrangements with Mrs. Dee. early closings typically do not affect the Extended Day Care Program, it remains open.
•The child will be picked up at school at the announced early dismissal time by an authorized person.

Parents/guardians need to get a form at the office to make a choice on what option they want and, if the child is to be picked up and who is allowed to do that.
