What a great celebration of Catholic Schools Week!Truly a Gospel-based community was evident. The students really enjoyed all the activities and the living and learning of our faith was apparent throughout the school.

In Religion this week,we continue our studies of the Liturgical Year. The Liturgical Year is  not to mark the passage of the seasons [Advent,Christmas,Lent, Easter, Ordinary Time ] but to celebrate the entire mystery of Jesus Christ.
In Science we are studying weather patterns, measuring weather, and taking a look at weather maps.
In Social Studies we travel to Kenya. We take a look at its culture, traditions, holidays, education, language and food. Some activities are planned for this unit of study. As always, it will be  an exciting and action packed week in third grade .

Recent Site Activity  |  Revision History As we begin a new week of school, we continue  with some of the projects already begun.  In Religion we are working on the completion of our booklets on the Beatitudes.  Each day we have taken a look at one of the Beatitudes, seeing each one as a sign post along the highway, telling us we are headed in the right direction in living our Faith.  The students have included in the booklet  a drawing and short explanation for each Beatitude.

The reports on Japan have proven to be very informative, and the students are doing a fantastic job in the presentations.  Students who did not present their project last week, will do so this week.
In Science we will be studying weather, identifying ways of measuring and predicting. We will also look at ways people protect themselves from effects of severe weather.

We have taken on the challenge of learning cursive writing.  Along with the ability to recognize  cursive letters, we have been practicing such slants as undercurve, overcurve and downcurve.  We already have the potential  for great cursive writers.
