Classroom Happenings
This month has "marched'' in with great weather! So too, our fourth grade class ''marches" on with many activities.
In Religion, the season of Lent gives us a special time to remember that Jesus suffered, died, and rose to new life for us.During Lent, we try to become more like Jesus through prayers and acts of mercy and kindness. The students have been studying the stations of the cross, and compiling a booklet to include special prayers for each station. In the form of a cross, each day students have been coloring in one box that suggest a good deed for the day.A prayer service will be planned as we near the end of Lent.
In Math,we have been doing division with two or more digit answers and remainders. Students have also been working in a new math wookbook that provides a comprehensive review of the mathematical concepts necessary to do well on the NYS Math test.
In Science, the class has really enjoyed performing experiments they have chosen to do for the class. Some of the experiments include:Volcanic Reactions,Making an Electromagnet,Thermal Energy, Static Electricity, only to mention a few.
In Reading, we continue with story comprehension, getermining important facts in a given reading, making judgments and decisions, as well as summarizing.
These are just a few areas of studying we are engaging in.Due to the spontaniety, enthusiasm and initiative of our class, I am sure more bits of learning opportuity will arise. Again, thank you for all your support.
