Kindergarten K3 Newsletter: March 5, 2010
This week:
- sound of l and words ending with l
- reviewed me (made a portait, on display in the hallway), how to write LL
- continued our list 100 things to be thankful for
- learning about Jesus' parables
- dimes and numbers 0-20, number bingo continued
- senses review
- read/shared Dr. Seuss books, made green eggs and ham for snack
- practiced making a recipe (blue and yellow make green)
- dress down day for Francis House ($300.00)
Next week:
- beginnin sound of u, write Uu, sight word do
- review l,p,r,me
- voc words: full, half-full, empty, cover designs with pattern blocks, act out story problems
- lent continued (including Jesus' miracles and parables
Reminder: Please read those mini books and review the reading worksheets every night, especially the worksheets that practice blending vowels (a,i,o). We are learning u next week (it is more difficult). Several students have told me they are not reading and practicing at home. If they cannot read the mini books fluently, go back to the earlier ones or write sentenes using sight words. It is very importat for their reading success to read every night!
