March News for Pre-K and Nursery School

Happy Birthday - Brendon - 5th, Colbey - 8th, and Kyle - 14th

Reminder - Our outside play days are on Mondays and Thursdays.

Friday Morning Prayers - On Fridays during Lent (except on First Friday Mass mornings), we will go up in the gym around 8:05 a.m. for prayers. Please join us if you are running late.

Dr. Seuss celebrated his birthday on March 2nd. When we read Dr. Seuss books this month, we will learn about alphabet letters and rhyming. Dr. Seuss books from home are welcome.

Pre-K Together Time with our Friends from Mrs. Goldsmith’s Class - On Wednesdays, we will have a ½ hr. learning time with our pre-k friends. Half of our class will go to Mrs. Goldsmith’s room with half of her students. The remaining students will be together in our pre-k room. The next week, we switch groups. After a two week rotation, the combination of students will change. We began with a playtime for our first rotation, and the kids loved it!!

Lenten Season - We are learning about Jesus, His life, and how we can be good Christians and follow His word. Through lessons, we find out about some of the miracles Jesus made happen, the words that He spoke, and know that Jesus rose up for us and is always taking care of us.

Both classes will begin St. Patrick's Day and Easter activities.  This week, we will also make a fruit salad and learn more about healthy heart habits.

Campbell’s Soup Labels and Box Tops - We would appreciate any help you can give to us collecting these items. The box tops can just be taken off food boxes/bags, and we need the bar code and points on the label or the whole label sent into school. Thank you for your donations!!

Have a great week,

Miss Whelan and Mrs. Cudzilo

Dear Parents,

The children did a great job with our January book challenge! We celebrated

In Pre-k we are learning about letters Kk, Ll, and Mm.  We will make a kite, a lion, and begin our "Mitten" story project.  Before our break, we laced "L"s, and next week we will work on M&M color graph.  The children will learn a little about Lent and think of good deeds they can do for the next weeks.  Musical chairs using numbers, healthy teeth and heart lessons, and painting a snow tree will be other pre-k activities done this week.

Nursery School children will receive a progress report this week and are making a carebear to hold on to it.  We are also making a lamb and will decide whether March will come in like a lamb or lion next week.  Math games will make our week a fun one.  Like pre-k, we are thinking about good things we can do over the next weeks.

  Have a great week!

Miss Whelan and Mrs. Cudzilo
