Classroom Happenings
Dear ECE & SAAC Parents,
Well the school year is off to a great start and I can see that the children are settling into their new routines. As we move through the school year let me take this time to remind you of policies, procedures and dates. As always if you have any questions please feel free to stop in or send me an email.
Reminders:
Parking Lot: From 7:30 until 8:15 there is NO parking in the school parking lot. During this time the lot is used for buses and for parents dropping off ONLY. If your child needs to be walked into the school for any reason you must park across the street or use the church parking lot on the east side of the church. There are no exceptions to this policy. Please keep in mind that this policy is being instituted for the safety and well being of our children.
After School Snacks: Children in Miss Whelan & Mrs. Goldsmith’s class as well as children in grades K-6th should bring a snack for after school. The SAAC program does not provide a snack. However, we do have a snack shack where your child can purchase a snack and drink if you so choose. Please discuss with your child if you wish for them to purchase. Usually your child can purchase a snack and drink for .75 cents. If you do not want your child getting snack shack please let me know.
Signing In/Out: Please make sure that you are signing In/Out everyday and that you are signing YOUR child out and not someone else’s. Signing the wrong child out can cause confusion for the staff and other parents.
Payments: Please make all checks or money orders payable to the Syracuse Diocese and attach the weekly payment slip. I ask that you do not make any adjustments to your payments. If you feel that your payment is incorrect please contact me so that I can re-check your account.
CASH PAYMENTS: For your convenience we are able to accept cash payments. However, only the following staff is able to take cash: Tina Dee, Bill Rattray or Maddy Figueroa. If you are unable to give your payment to any one of these staff please hold onto your payment for another day. Please make sure that you receive a “cash received slip”. A formal receipt will be given when I have logged the payment. Any payment submitted to unauthorized staff can be misplaced and therefore not logged properly. If your payment is not received by authorized staff and a cash receipt slip has not been issued you may be subject to replacing any lost payment. I greatly appreciate your cooperation and timely payments.
DS/Game boys etc: Will not be allowed after school until the snow begins to fall. Once the snow begins to fall I will notify parents on which days these items may be brought in. Only these days will your child be allowed to play. Please remember that we are NOT responsible for lost, broken, misplaced or stolen toys of any type. Please label all of your child’s belongings.
Homework Huddle: Homework huddle is offered Monday – Thursday and is not mandatory. If you would like your child to participate in home work huddle please let your child know. Please make sure that your child lines up when homework huddle is announced. It is also a good idea to talk with your child’s teacher. Some teachers would prefer that homework be done at home. Our staff does NOT correct homework.
NON School days: Please note that on ALL non school days your child will need to bring a bagged lunch. This includes ½ days.
